We are Cardowan Community Meadow

We are a registered charity led by local volunteers in Cardowan, North Lanarkshire. Our mission is to offer peaceful, inclusive spaces for wellbeing where everyone can rediscover balance and connect to themselves, community and nature. We campaign to improve the health, wellbeing and rights of people in our community.

We offer:

  • Safe spaces open to everyone who needs help to pause, to breathe, to relax.
  • Peer support to help you care for yourself, your family, your community.
  • Opportunities to care for our community's valuable greenspaces.

We're currently growing this website so if you'd like to find out more, please email us at cardowanmeadow@gmail.com.

How can you access our free wellbeing activities?

Just drop-in!  We know from our own experience how difficult it can be to get out and about. (We've been actively campaigning to bring the bus back to Cardowan.) So we run groups and activities across the week in locally accessible spaces. If you're interested in trying something, come along at the times below for a cuppa and a chat.

💛 The Happy Hub at 12 Dorlin Road, G33 6AP is where we deliver weekly FREE wellbeing activities:

Tuesdays 7-9pm Peer Support Group
Thursdays 12-3pm Health and Wellbeing Arts & Crafts
Fridays 1-2pm Health Walk in the Community
Last Friday in the month 10am-12pm Holistic therapies from massage to soundbaths

💛 The Active Travel Hub in Frankfield Park is about reducing our dependence on cars and getting active:

Saturdays 2-4pm Drop-in bike servicing and repairs

💛 At the Cardowan Community Garden (on the Meadow behind Comedie Road) and in Kilpatrick Play Park, we also have a range of volunteer gardening opportunities:

Just a wee note to say this website is a work in progress.  It's going to be a place to find out who we are, how we run the charity to make sure the funding we achieve benefits the community, and what we've been doing and will be doing.  Please bear with us as we update the site.
